API seeks to consolidate the market

Australian Pharmaceutical Industries (API), headquartered at Camellia, is interested in acquiring the vitamins and wholesale drug distribution of Primary Health Care. “We’ve always said we supported consolidation in the pharmaceutical market,” said MD, Stephen Roche. API delivered a first-half net profit of $6.15 million to February. The company’s supply chain is undergoing a three-year reorganisation which will cost $60 million and deliver annual savings of $18 million from 2011.

First day of Parramatta City Council's appeal

The NSW Court of Appeal will hear, today, Parramatta City Council’s appeal against the NSW Land and Environment Court’s decision rejecting council’s compulsory requisition of six properties in Darcy Street . Council wants the properties for its $1.4 billion Civic Place redevelopment. The hearing is expected to last two days. The Minister for Planning, Frank Sartor, has flagged new legislation which would allow councils to acquire properties for urban renewal.
