Ryde. $71 million Cochlear proposal approved

The Minister for Planning has approved the construction of a new Cochlear Global headquarters, at Macquarie University. The two-section building, with a maximum height of seven storeys, has a gross floor area of 24,343 square metres. The relocation from Lane Cove would enable Cochlear to further enhance its international reputation and also reinforce Macquarie University and the Macquarie Park Corridor as a specialist centre and hub for innovation, the proposal said. The proposal also said the development would have a capital investment of approximately $71 million and would employ approximately 1200 people.
