Penrith. Proposed agreement on funding

Owners of land in Glemore Park have made an offer to enter into a planning agreement with the Minister for Planning in connection with the Penrith Local Environmental Plan (Glenmore Park Stage 2) 2009 (LEP) to ensure that satisfactory arrangements have been made for the provision of state public infrastructure to serve proposed development at Glenmore Park. Included in the agreement is a contribution of $22,5 million to be used by the RTA to construct and maintain roads on and adjacent to the land, including the installation of traffic signals, upgrading existing roads and intersections and associated road works. Parties to the proposed agreement are the Minister for Planning, Lensworth Glenmore Park Limited, Mulpha FKP Pty Limited trading as Norwest Land, Holicombe Pty Limited, Sergio and Assunta Vianello and Mint Holdings Pty Ltd. Notice of the agreement is on public exhibition until July 28

Parramatta. Legal firm appointment

Stephen Jenkins litigation and intellectual property lawyer, with MatthewsFolbigg Lawyers, in Parramatta, has been appointed the firm’s managing director. MatthewsFolbigg’s corporate group clients include some of Australia's largest businesses and ASX-listed companies, as well as many small-medium sized companies and high net worth individuals. Mr Jenkins is the immediate past president of the Parramatta-based Western Sydney Business Connection. MatthewsFolbigg began in Parramatta in 1962 as Folbigg & Folbigg, merging, in 1997, with the firm of solicitor Paul Matthews, who commenced his practice in Blacktown in 1970 .

North Ryde. Stockland wins another award

Stockland Holdings has been recognised for innovation and excellence by the Property Council of Australia, with its Triniti Business Campus, in Macquarie Park, winning the BlueScope Buildings Award for Business Industrial Parks. This is the second time Stockland has won this award in three years with the Optus Centre in Macquarie Park receiving it in 2008.

Merrylands. Go-ahead for shopping project

Stockland Holdings has won approval from Holroyd Council to build the final stages of its $390 million Merrylands shopping centre expansion. When completed, by the end of 2012, there will be over 200 specialty stores including nine external stores facing McFarlane Street, eight mini-majors, plus Big W, Kmart, Target, Coles, Woolworths and Franklins, over 3000 car spaces.

Westmead. More parking at kids' hospital

Parramatta City Council has on public exhibition and application by Health Projects International Pty Ltd, for additions to the Westmead Children's Hospital carpark including provision of an additional 1.5 levels to accommodate a further 133 cars, two new lift shafts, extend pedestrian ramp and fire stairs. The estimated cost of development is $2.8 million.
