Parramatta.Metrobuses for the city

Five of the eight new Metrobus services announced by the government will focus on moving passengers to and from Parramatta seven days a week, with a 10 minute frequency during peak periods, every 15 minutes during the weekday off-peak, and 20 minutes in the evening and on weekends. The services are between Parramatta and Sydney CBD via West Ryde, between Parramatta and Macquarie via Epping, between Parramatta and Hornsby via Baulkham Hills, between Hurstville and Parramatta via Bankstown, and between Sutherland and Parramatta via Bankstown. The first of the new routes, from Parramatta to the city via Victoria Road, would begin on August 8 providing 40,000 extra “passenger spaces” a week. Minister for Western Sydney, David Borger, said the expanded Metrobus network will provide important links between major residential and employment centres. Metrobus services are pre-pay only bus services and requires commuters to purchase a ticket before boarding the bus.
