Camellia. Objection to waste DA

Parramatta City Council will lodge an objection with the Department of Planning and Infrastructure to the DA for the Remondis Alternate Waste Treatment Facility, at 1 Grand Avenue, Camellia on the grounds of future plans for the Camellia precinct, due to the high levels on contamination on the site and the general unsuitability of the proposed usage of the site. The facility would process up to 100,000 tonnes annually of commercial and industrial waste, and 50,000 tonnes annually of food and green waste. The site, previously occupied by James Hardie Industries, is owned by the Billbergia Group Pty Ltd. The estimated construction cost: $25 million.
